Child drowns at Lalmohan

LALMOHAN, BHOLA, May 15: A two-and-a-half-year-old child drowned in a pond at the house of Apan Ali Matabbar in Ward No. 7 of Kalma Union in Lalmohan Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.

The deceased child named Md Rafin was the son of Md Rubel of that house.

It is known that Rafin's mother got busy removing the paddy from the field during rains.

In the meantime, Rafin inadvertently fell into the pond. After some time, his mother started searching for him. At one stage, she saw Rafin floating in the pond and rescued him and took him to Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Lalmohan Police Station Md Aliul Islam said, "We have not received any complaint in this incident."
