Police have recovered the body of a young woman from near the hospital in the University of Science and Technology (USTC) area in Chattogram

The body of 20-year-old Rita Akter was recovered on Saturday near the hospital building of the private university campus on Zakir Hossain Road in Khulshi Thana.

Rita lived in Noapara, adjacent to the CDA Market in Pahartali Thana.

Khulshi Police Station chief Arifur Rahman told bdnews24.com that the body was recovered from a drain in front of the hospital building after it was reported. The body was later sent to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue.

The police station chief said, "Initially, it seems that the young woman died after falling from the building. Her brains had come out."

Rita was not a student of the university. Law enforcers are investigating why she went to the campus and how she died, the police officer said.    "bdnews24
