Fire breaks out at Hakkani Paper Mill in Boalkhali

A fire broke out at the Hakkani Paper and Board Mill in the Kalurghat area of Boalkhali upazila under Chittagong district on Monday afternoon.

Two units of the Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the spot and are working to bring the blaze under control, confirmed Alok Chakma, in-charge of Boalkhali Fire Service Station.

He stated that firefighters responded immediately after receiving news of the fire around 1:00 PM.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be ascertained immediately.

Efforts by fire service personnel to extinguish the flame were still ongoing at the time of reporting.
