Police recovered the body of a man from a pond at Naldanga upazila of Natore district on Friday morning, two days after he went missing from his home.

The deceased was identified as Milon Prang, 45, resident of Brahmapur Hajipara village of the upazila.

According to police and local sources, Milon had been missing since Wednesday afternoon after leaving home. His family members searched different places but could not trace his whereabouts.

On Thursday morning, relatives found his clothes and shoes beside a pond and brought the belongings home.

Around 8:30am on Friday, Milon’s wife Shabana Khatun noticed a body floating in the pond and raised an alarm, prompting locals to gather at the scene.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Naldanga Police Station officer-in-charge Nur-e-Alam said police were investigating the incident and trying to determine the exact cause of the death.
