Despite the end of Eid-ul-Azha celebrations, many people continued leaving the capital on Friday to spend time with their families and relatives in their hometowns across the country.
Bus terminals in Uttara, Abdullahpur, Azampur and Airport areas witnessed a steady flow of passengers throughout the day, though the situation remained largely calm and free from the usual pre-Eid rush.
Transport operators said passenger pressure on the second day of Eid was moderate compared to the massive crowd seen in the days leading up to the festival. With sufficient ticket availability and comparatively congestion-free roads, many travellers preferred to begin their journeys after completing Eid rituals in Dhaka.
Passengers were seen departing for various destinations of the country.
Bachchu Mia, counter master of Pabna Express, and Monir Hossain of National Travels said passenger numbers on Eid day were very low, while bus services resumed normal flow from Friday morning.
They said around 10 to 12 buses had left the terminals by afternoon and bus fares remained unchanged.
