3 electrocuted in two districts

Three people were electrocuted in Jagannathpur Upazila of Sunamganj District and Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram District in two days.

SUNAMGANJ: An elderly man was electrocuted while trying to charge his son's battery-driven easy-bike in Bagmoyna Village of Raniganj Union in Jagannathpur Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased Lalu Mia, 65, was the son of late Zahid Mia of the village. Officer-in-Charge of Jagannathpur Police Station Shafiqul Islam confirmed the news. 

KURIGRAM: Two people were electrocuted in two separate places in Nageshwari Upazila on Monday. 

Locals and relatives said that Jahangir Alam Sabu Mia, 26, son of Mojibor Rahman of Kuti Bamandanga area of Bamnanga Union in the upazila, was connecting a sound box during a wedding ceremony at his house around 12 noon when he was electrocuted. He was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.

On the other hand, Mahbubul Hasan Muhith, 16, son of Shahinur Alam of Fakirtari Bagdanga area of Nageshwari Municipality, was electrocuted while connecting an IPS battery at his own house. He was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
