Three more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours until Tuesday morning, raising the combined total of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths in Bangladesh to 631, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DGHS said the latest three deaths have been classified as suspected measles fatalities.
With the new figures, suspected measles deaths have risen to 539, while confirmed measles deaths remain unchanged at 92.
During the same 24-hour period, 980 new suspected measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of suspected infections nationwide to 81,084.
The health authority also recorded 54 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases, taking the total confirmed infections to 9,833.
Since March 15, a total of 66,170 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 62,292 have recovered, DGHS data showed.
