Farmers’ PARTNER congress held in three districts

Farmers’ PARTNER congress under the Programme on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience (PARTNER) project in the 2025-2026 fiscal year was held in Rajshahi, Dinajpur and Khulna districts recently.
RAJSHAHI: Organised by the Godagari Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), the congress was held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Tuesday.
Additional Director of the Rajshahi Region DAE Dr Md Azizur Rahman was the chief guest at the event.
The speakers at the meeting said that the PARTNER project is playing a groundbreaking role in transforming the country’s agricultural and rural economy, ensuring nutritional security and creating new entrepreneurs.
Among others, Rajshahi DAE Deputy Director Mohammad Nasir Uddin, and Rajshahi Region DAE Senior Monitoring Officer Md Abdul Latif were present as special guests at the event and highlighted various aspects of the project.
At the beginning of the event, Upazila Agriculture Officer Maryam Ahmed delivered a welcome speech. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Israt Jahan chaired the event. 
NAWABGANJ, DINAJPUR:  The congress was held in Nawabganj Upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The event was organised by the Upazila DAE on Tuesday at the Upazila Parishad hall room. UNO Bidhan Kanti Haldar presided over the programme, while Deputy Director (DD) of the Dinajpur DAE Afzal Hossain attended as the chief guest.
The event was conducted by Agriculture Extension Officer Karamat Ali. Speakers included Upazila Officer Jahidul Islam Ilias, Upazila Social Service Officer Shubhra Prakash Chakraborty.
Local political leaders, NGO representatives, farmers, women farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs and officials from different levels also attended the event.
At the end of the programme, guests visited stalls showcasing modern agricultural technologies and a display of fruits and crops produced using advanced farming methods on the Upazila Parishad premises.
DUMURIA, KHULNA:  The congress was held in Dumuria Upazila of Khulna on Sunday.
Organised under the DAE’s flagship initiative, the programme was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. Farmers from 14 unions, agriculture officials, public representatives and journalists took part in the event.
Speaking as a trainer from the DAE in Khulna, Mahadeb Chandra Sana said, “The  project aims to bring around 3 lakh hectares of land under Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) within the next five years.”
He said plans are underway to issue “smart agricultural cards” to around 2.87 crore farmers nationwide.
Additional DD (Horticulture) Md Abdus Samad highlighted the importance of sustainable food security.
The event was chaired by Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Md Nazmul Huda. It was attended, among others, by Mahadeb Chandra Sana, Md Abdus Samad, Additional Agriculture Officer Eva Mallik, agriculture officials Hamidur Rahman and Ajay Kumar Biswas, local representatives and journalists.
The programme concluded with the distribution of awards among successful farmer field school participants and a presentation on digital agricultural services and modern information systems.
