Youth electrocuted while stealing transformer

BAGHA, RAJSHAHI, June 19: A young man was electrocuted after climbing a pole to steal an electricity transformer at Hamidkura field in Arani Municipality area in Bagha Upazila of the district early Friday.

Fire service personnel reached the spot at around 8:30 am on Friday and recovered the body of Mamun Pramanik, 35, son of Bhadu Pramanik of Gochar Mahalla in Arani Municipality.

The deceased's wife, Shahanaz Begum, said that they have two children and she works at the Ishwardi EPZ. On Thursday morning, Mamun took Tk 1,000 from her. In the afternoon, he said on the phone that he was staying at Arani. After that, there was no contact with him.
