NAOGAON, June 24: A child’s body was exhumed from a family graveyard in Mohadebpur Upazila of Naogaon on Tuesday following a court order, nearly 10 months after burial, in a case now under renewed investigation amid allegations of murder.

The body of three-year-old Naeem was exhumed from Binodpur Westpara Village around 11:30am by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the presence of a magistrate, police and health officials.

The case involves the mysterious deaths of two children, which local residents and family members have long claimed were not accidental drowning but premeditated killings.

They alleged the incident may be linked to a revenge attack following the circulation of a video of an alleged rape incident involving a schoolgirl.

According to the family, Naeem and his five-year-old playmate were allegedly abducted and later killed before their bodies were dumped in a pond. They also claimed visible injuries were found on the child’s body and signs of drowning were absent.
