The hanging body of a police officer was found at a house in Dakshingaon area under Sabujbagh Police Station (PS) in Dhaka on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Nilufar Yeasmin, 29. She was the wife of Anwar Hossain, a sub-inspector (SI) posted at Gazipur Metropolitan Police, and the mother of two children.
It was known that the body of Nilufar was found hanging from the ceiling of her rented house in Shahibagh Masjid area of Dakshingaon in Sabujbagh at early hours.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Sabujbagh PS SI Mst Fatema.
The deceased’s family members claimed that Nilufar committed suicide due to anxiety over various financial crises, including the study costs of children.
However, the actual reason behind her death would be known after getting the autopsy report, SI Fatema added.
