Child drowns in Natore pond

NATORE, July 13: A nine-year-old girl child drowned in a pond near her house in Kutirpara area under Naldanga Municipality in the district on Saturday. 

The deceased Fatema Khatun, 9, was the daughter of Md Firoz Hossain of the area. 

Police and local sources said that Fatema fell into a pond while playing adjacent to her house. Finding her nowhere, the family members began searching. At one stage, they found her floating in the pond. She was immediately recovered and sent to the local health complex where she was declared dead. 

In this connection, Officer-in-Charge of Naldanga Police Station Noor-e-Alom said, the body will be handed over to the family members after the legal process.
