DMP advises avoiding Uttara roads

Gulshan Traffic Divion of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has advised commuters to avoid roads in the Uttara area. This information was issued in a message on Wednesday (July 15).

Vehicular movement remains halted on the related roads because of ongoing student blockades in front of the Uttara BNS tower and on both sides of the intersection.

Consequently, a severe traffic jam has been created on the airport-bound lane of the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway. The long tailback of vehicles has already reached the Kuril Flyover.

The DMP specially requested citizens to use alternative routes if possible.

Traffic police personnel are working tirelessly to bring the situation back to normal.
