Satkhira HSC center secretary removed after wrong question paper distributed

The center secretary of a center in Satkhira was removed due to distributing wrong question paper on the HSC Geography 1st paper exam. This incident took place in Satkhira City College. 

The mistake was detected around 20 minutes into the exam and then the authorities recalled the papers and restarted the exam. 

While the HSC Geography 1st paper exam was scheduled on Thursday, the 2nd paper exam was originally scheduled for July 18.

Examinees reported that they were mistakenly given the Geography 2nd paper Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) sheets at the start of the exam. Many students had already written their answers for 15 to 20 minutes before the authorities realized the error and took back the scripts.

Furthermore, the creative section questions distributed next were found to be from the 2025 syllabus. These were also replaced within a few minutes. The exam was finally completed using the correct question papers, and students were given an additional 20 minutes to compensate for the lost time.

Satkhira Additional District Magistrate (Education) Ripon Biswas said the situation arose due to a mistake by the college authorities during question paper sorting. The matter has been reported to the Chairman of the Jashore Education Board.

Satkhira District Regular Administrator Kausar Aziz confirmed the removal of the center secretary for the sake of a fair investigation.

Professor Faruque Azam Md Abdus Salam, Chairman of the Jashore Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, stated that a show-cause notice will be issued to the accused official. The board will take further administrative action upon receiving the probe report and will decide later whether the 2nd paper questions need to be changed.

Students from four colleges are appearing for their examinations at the Satkhira City College center.
