Youth gunned down in Khulna

A young individual was shot dead by miscreants in the Tutpara area of Khulna city on Thursday night. 

Deceased was identified as Ismail, 32, son of Shahahan alias Pagla Shahahan. He is a resident of the Dakshin Tutopara Boro Khalpar area in the city. 

Police and local sources said a gang of miscreants shot him in the head at around 12:15AM while he was standing near his house.

Locals rescued critically injured Ismail and took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctor declared him dead. 

Khulna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shafiqul Islam said primary findings suggest the attackers shot Ismail in the head and then struck him with sharp weapons to ensure his death. Police visited the scene and collected evidence.

The OC added that Ismail was accused in several cases, including murder.

The body has been kept at the Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police launched an operation to uncover the motive and arrest those involved.
