Jagannath University (JnU) authorities have imposed a restriction on all meetings, rallies and processions on the campus until further notice, citing concerns over possible law and order issues following separate programmes announced by three organisations at the same time and venue.
The decision was announced in a notice signed by the university's Proctor, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin, on Wednesday (Aug. 5).
According to the notice, three organisations have announced separate programmes at the same location and time on Thursday.
Considering the potential risk to law and order, the university administration has prohibited all forms of meetings, public gatherings and processions across the campus.
The ban will remain in force until further notice, the notice added.
