The investigation agency has submitted a report against eight people, including former Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor ASM Maqsud Kamal and Professor Dr Zafar Iqbal, in a crimes-against-humanity case over the attack on Dhaka University students during the July uprising.
Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim confirmed the development on Thursday (August 6), saying the report will be submitted as a formal charge to the International Crimes Tribunal after verification. Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam also confirmed the matter.
The accused also include former judge ABM Nizamul Haque Manik, Dhaka University Sociology Professor AKM Jamal Uddin and Chhatra League General Secretary Wali Asif Inan.
According to the prosecution, the investigation officer submitted the report to the Chief Prosecutor's Office after a lengthy investigation. The report is currently under review.
Following the review, a formal charge sheet will be submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal.
