SIRAJGANJ, Aug 6: Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Ullapara and Tarash upazilas of the district in two days.
Police said that a Dhaka-bound bus hit an auto-rickshaw from behind on the Dhaka-Rajshahi Highway in Ramarchar area of Ullapara, leaving the auto-rickshaw driver Aftab Ali, 40, of Diyarpara Village in the upazila dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, an unidentified vehicle hit an unidentified old beggar, 62, while he was crossing the Bogura Road in Hatikumrul Interchange area of Ullapara, leaving him dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station (PS) Md Ismail Hossain said efforts are underway to identify and seize the vehicles. At the same time, the police are working to identify the deceased unidentified person.
On the other hand, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a bus in front of Asha Hotel in Khalkula Bazar area of the Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway in Tarash Upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased Jasim Uddin, 48, was the son of late Shamsuzzaman of Briddhomorich Village in Bhangura Upazila of Pabna District.
