The hearing on framing charges against ousted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 33 others in a murder case has been deferred to September 1.
Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 Judge Robiul Alam passed the order on Thursday after four accused, currently in custody in other cases, were not produced before the court.
The case relates to the killing of truck driver Hossain, who was shot dead in Mohammadpur’s Chand Uddyan area on July 19, 2024, during the anti-discrimination student movement. His mother, Rina Begum, filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station on August 31.
Police submitted a charge sheet against Hasina and 33 others on November 23, 2025. Of the accused, 20, including Hasina, are absconding, four are in jail and 10 are on bail. Arrest warrants have been issued for those who are absconding.
