CNG run auto-rickshaw drivers obstructed a road in Chattogram in Friday after spending more than 24 hours without gas.

Hundreds of drivers created a blockade in Sholashahar area, obstructing traffic between Muradpur and Gate No. 2. Meanwhile, hundreds of CNG auto-rickshaws were seen queuing in front of Fosil Filling Station.

According to the drivers, fuel crises at filling stations around the city have forced them to stay without any income for nearly two days.

The filling station officer explained that they could not deliver gas to drivers due to its shortage. The process will continue once there is enough supply of the fuel.

Police reached the spot and asked the drivers to clear the road. But, the drivers refused to do so saying that they would remain there unless gas supply was restored.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchlaish Police Station Md. Zahedul Islam that efforts were underway to clear the road and allow traffic.
