After its theatrical release, ‘Delupi’ returns to its filming location in Khulna with four screenings tomorrow (Aug 14) at the Batiaghata Upazila Parishad Auditorium.
According to director Mohammad Tawqeer Islam, the showings will be at 10:30 AM, 03:00 PM, 05:15 PM and 07:15 PM. Ticket price for the movie is Tk 99.
First released in Khulna on Nov 7 last year, the movie was shown all over the country subsequently.
Being inspired from the ‘Deluti union’ in Paikgachha, the movie describes the hardship of people from the coasts against river erosion, flood, dislocation and calamity along with politics, rivalry, and preservation of the dying Jatra culture.
Real life experience of people from the area is shown through local residents and Jatra performers in the movie without any professional star actors.
Before getting released in Bangladesh, the movie ‘Delupi’ was screened in the 55th International Film Festival Rotterdam and was chosen for the Red Lotus Asian Film Festival Vienna, Austria.
