Content creator Abdullah Al Mamun, popularly known as Prince Mamun, has secured bail in two separate cases filed by his wife, clearing the way for his release from jail, his lawyer said on Sunday.
Mamun’s lawyer Palash Roy said the two courts granted him bail during separate hearings in Dhaka.
In the assault case, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raunak Jahan Taki granted him bail on a Tk1,000 bond until the police submit their report. In the other case, filed with Vatara Police Station over an alleged suicide attempt during a Facebook Live session, a judge of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court also granted him bail.
Mamun was arrested on July 24 in a case filed by his wife, Atikia Faizah Mohona, accusing him of demanding Tk1 crore in dowries and physically assaulting her.
She later filed the second case over an alleged suicide attempt during a Facebook Live session from their Vatara residence late on July 23. He was subsequently shown arrested in that case following a court order on July 29.
