Khulna police arrest ‘Shooter Belu’ with gun

A suspected member of a top criminal group in Khulna was arrested by police during a late-night operation in the Mirzapur area of Khulna on Tuesday (18 August).

The arrestee was identified as Al-Amin Howlader, alias Belu or “Shooter Belu.”

From his custody, the police seized a homemade pipe gun along with three cartridges of shotgun ammunition.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station, Md Shafiqul Islam, reported that Belu belongs to the “B Company” of Grenade Babu, who is reportedly a notorious criminal. According to the police, he had been residing in the locality for three days.

There are two cases pending against him in Khulna, while one is lodged in Dhaka. A case was filed against him under the Arms Act.
