BGB seizes Tk 1.47 lakh drugs

BGB seized Indian Escap syrup, Yaba tablets and cannabis during two separate anti-drug operations along the Fulbari border on Tuesday (August 18).
As part of the operation, Lalmonirhat Battalion (15 BGB) raided the Balatari and North Bidyabagish regions on August 17. Sensing their presence, some of the suspects escaped to India leaving the drugs.
The BGB team seized 100 bottles of Escap syrup, 352 yaba pills and 400 grams of cannabis, which has a total value of Tk 1.47 lakh, from the scene.
Lt Col Mehedi Imam, PSC, commanding officer of Lalmonirhat-15 BGB Battalion, said that intelligence surveillance and border patrolling have been intensified for preventing drug smuggling.
