Madrasa teacher held over alleged assault of 12-year-old student

A madrasa teacher has been detained in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, over the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old student.The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday (Aug. 19).

The detained teacher was identified as Mohammad Abdullah, 21. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Ward No. 7 of Narayanganj City Corporation.

Police said Abdullah teaches at a pre-cadet madrasa attended by the victim, and they live in the same area. The teacher allegedly took the child to a room and sexually assaulted him.

The child later informed his mother, who contacted the police.

Siddhirganj Police Inspector (Investigation) Mizanur Rahman said the accused had been detained and preparations were underway to file a case.
