Dhk-Ctg highway block: demands justice for Narayanganj leader

Activists of Islami Andolan Bangladesh blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Bandar upazila of Narayanganj on Friday, demanding justice for the murder of local leader Zahid Hasan Bulbul.

The blockade started around 9:40 AM and continued until 10:40 AM in the Madanpur area.

Protesters set fire to tyres on the road during the demonstration. The action disrupted traffic movement and caused a long tailback on the key highway.

Demonstrators demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of all accused involved in the killing.

Later, police personnel from Bandar Police Station and Kanchpur Highway Police Station reached the spot. They spoke with the protesters and assured them of justice.

Following the assurance, activists withdrew the blockade.
