Thirty-four HSC candidates who could not sit for their scheduled examinations due to natural disasters took their tests under a special arrangement at Rajshahi New Government Degree College on Monday.

The candidates were from eight districts under the Rajshahi Education Board. A total of 37 candidates were scheduled to take the special examination, but three were absent.

The examinations in Bangla First Paper, Logic First Paper and Physics First Paper began at 10am and ended at 1pm. Of the 34 candidates who took part, 30 were male and four were female.

Dr Rabiu Islam, convener of the HSC examination centre, said the college had made all necessary arrangements following a directive from the education board.

He said the board had asked candidates who were unable to attend examinations due to natural disasters to register for the special arrangement. Those who registered sat for their examinations on Monday.

Rajshahi Education Board Controller of Examinations Professor Iffat Zerin confirmed that the special examination was held at New Government Degree College, with 37 candidates scheduled to participate.
