Man killed in accident while on trip, fellows leave body behind

A 26-year-old man was killed when he fell from a bus while returning from a trip to Cox’s Bazar early Sunday (August 23) in Faujdarhat of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway.
The deceased has been identified as Dhruvajit Roy Apon. He was a resident of Narayanganj and used to work as a teacher at Dynamic Tutorial Home in Fatullah while being a student at Daffodil Polytechnic Institute.
The police reported that Apon was standing close to the door of the bus when the bus took a turn right after leaving the filling station. He lost balance and fell on the road, where he was run over by the bus. He was killed instantly.

The bus was hired by the Bangladesh Bus Spotter group for a trip to Cox’s Bazar on August 20. According to the police, Apon’s co-workers unfairly drove off instead of taking him to a hospital.
Baro Aulia highway police station Officer-in-Charge Ariful Amin told media that footage obtained from the CCTV camera inside the filling station showed how Apon moved behind the bus and waved to the driver of the bus as he was about to leave the filling station.
Once the bus gained some stability, he dashed and stopped near the front door of the bus. Then, as the bus came onto the highway, it made a sudden turn, leading to his fall.
