Rangpur Metropolitan Police Chief Md Abdul Mabud has said that DNA samples will be collected from two suspects arrested in connection with the four-murder case, and both will also undergo drug tests.
The suspects are Siddhartha and Mugdha Das.
The police chief made the remarks during a briefing on the case at his office at 10AM on Thursday. Legal proceedings for the tests are underway.
As per the confessional statements of the suspects and the post-mortem reports, Ganapati Chakraborty and his family members were strangled to death. He again mentioned that there is no evidence of any rape committed on the two women, Pritilata and Agami Chakraborty.
Police is probing to find out any kind of dispute over the sharing of money among the co-sharers of the property. Bank statements have also been asked for finding out the withdrawal of any cash.
Ganapati Chakraborty, a retired teacher of Zilla School, his wife Pritilata, Agami Chakraborty, his daughter and a master of English from Carmichael College, and Priyam Chakraborty, his Class V studying son were killed in their house in Machuapara of the last Thursday morning.
