Two fertilizer, pesticides seller fined in Rajbari

A mobile court has fined individuals in the Char Majlishpur area of Goalanda Upazila in Rajbari district for illegally selling fertilizer and expired pesticides.

The operation was conducted on Monday (August 31) at noon in the Char Majlishpur area. The drive was led by Mohammad Muntasir Hasan Khan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of the upazila.

Kuddus Fakir, who was fined, is an unauthorized fertilizer seller in the area. He was fined Tk 30,000 under Section 45 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, for selling fertilizer without authorization. In default of payment, he was sentenced to 20 days of simple imprisonment.

On the same day, Rubel Fakir was also fined Tk 30,000 for selling expired pesticides. He was sentenced to 10 days of simple imprisonment in default of payment.
