Chinese national dies at Dhaka hotel

A Chinese national was found dead in a hotel room in Uttara West area of the capital on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Li Xingqiang, a resident of China’s Henan province.

Police said Li was found lying on the floor of a room at Bengal Hotel and Hospitality Limited in Sector 3 around 9am.

Three other Chinese nationals staying in rooms 404 and 406 reportedly found him and informed hotel authorities, who then notified police.

Police initially suspected that Li had died at the scene. An investigation and necessary legal procedures are underway to determine the exact cause of his death.
