Sammilito Islami Bank customers withdraw Tk1,040 crore in three days

Customers of Sammilito Islami Bank have withdrawn around Tk1,040 crore in three days, as the bank continues to meet withdrawal requests while money is also flowing into the bank through regular transactions.

On Wednesday, September 9, 10,697 customers withdrew Tk381 crore against applications submitted on September 3. Earlier, 7,234 customers withdrew Tk340 crore on September 8, while 8,125 customers withdrew Tk319 crore on September 7.

The bank said customers had applied to withdraw Tk3,304 crore over September 1-3. A total of 58,745 customers submitted applications during the three days.

The bank also received money through cash deposits, RTGS, BFTN and clearing. On September 7, it received Tk141 crore, while another Tk195 crore came in on September 8.

The bank said normal transactions through individual accounts are continuing alongside the withdrawal process.

“Customers are receiving their money according to their applications, while the flow of funds into the bank and regular banking transactions are also continuing,” the bank said.

The figures show that a large number of customers are withdrawing money every day, but the bank is also receiving fresh funds through normal banking activities.
