The first meeting of secretaries under the BNP-led government will be held at the Secretariat at 4:30 PM on Tuesday (September 15), with Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani in the chair.
The Cabinet Division confirmed the matter, saying the meeting is being held nearly seven months after the new government took office.
The meeting will discuss measures to make government activities more dynamic, public-oriented and effective. The National Renewable Energy Development Strategy Paper (2026–2030) will also receive special attention.
The 13th parliamentary election was held on February 12, with the BNP securing a single majority. A new government led by Tarique Rahman took office on February 17.
The secretaries’ meeting is being held 210 days after the government assumed office, marking the first such meeting of the new administration.
According to the agenda, various formal issues related to government activities will be discussed, alongside measures to improve the efficiency and public orientation of government operations.
Proposals submitted by senior secretaries and secretaries on important informal issues that could have a positive impact on the public will also be reviewed.
The National Renewable Energy Development Strategy Paper (2026–2030) will be a key item on the agenda, while other miscellaneous issues will also be discussed.
Preparations have already been taken to review progress in implementing the activities of the respective ministries and divisions ahead of the meeting.
The secretaries’ meeting is an important forum for administrative coordination, where secretaries discuss government policy decisions, development programmes, administrative priorities and coordination among different ministries.
