Brook blast 42-ball century as England crush Sri Lanka

Brook reached his century off just 42 balls, marking his second T20I hundred and the fastest of his career. The performance stands as the second-fastest T20I century for England, trailing only Phil Salt's 39-ball record against South Africa.

Brook remained unbeaten on 114 off 49 balls, propelling England to a formidable total of 254 for 4 in their 20 overs. Skipper Jos Buttler provided strong support with a 44-ball 80.

The explosive display earned high praise from former England captain Ben Stokes on social media, who compared Brook's raw talent to Kevin Pietersen. The century marks Brook's third white-ball century of the year and his second in T20Is, following his maiden T20I century against Pakistan during the T20 World Cup.

Chasing a target of 255, Sri Lanka crumbled under sustained pressure from the English attack and were bowled out for 135 in 19 overs. Sri Lanka's entire team managed only 21 runs more than Brook scored individually.

Among the bowlers, 23-year-old pacer Sony Baker impressed in only his second T20I appearance, taking 3 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs, including a maiden. Liam Dawson and Jamie Overton chipped in with two wickets apiece.
