Bangladesh have announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming one-off Test against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates.
The match is not part of the World Test Championship, but Bangladesh have named a strong squad for the fixture.
Pacer Nahid Rana has been left out, while experienced fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has been rested. Amit Hasan also missed out, while Zakir Ali Anik has returned to the Test squad after a long absence.
Six players included in Bangladesh’s Asian Games squad have also been named in the Test squad. Naim Hasan, Mushfiq Hasan and Iqbal Hossain Emon will travel with the team to the UAE as travelling reserves.
The one-off Test between Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be played on October 9 in the UAE. Although the match is outside the World Test Championship, it will provide both sides with an opportunity to prepare and assess their strength.
