Six senior police officers dismissed over alleged absconding

The government has dismissed six senior police officers, including former Dhaka district police superintendent Asaduzzaman, for allegedly absconding from duty.

The Home Ministry issued separate gazette notifications on Monday, signed by Senior Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury.

The orders took immediate effect.

The dismissed officers are former police superintendent Arifur Rahman Mondal, former additional deputy police commissioner of the Secretariat security unit Rajib Das, former additional DIG Mohammad Zayedul Alam, former superintendent of the Anti-Terrorism Unit Mohammad Sanwar Hossain, former additional superintendent Palash Ranjan Dey and former Dhaka district police superintendent Asaduzzaman.

The government had earlier moved to dismiss a larger group of police officers over alleged absconding.
