Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will highlight Bangladesh's national priorities in bilateral and multilateral meetings with world leaders during his visit to attend the United Nations General Assembly, according to a official spokesperson.

Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office Mahdi Amin disclosed the information during a press briefing held in New York on Monday local time.

Mahdi Amin stated that the Prime Minister will engage in several bilateral and multilateral discussions, prioritizing national interests in talks with foreign heads of state and government.

The statement comes following Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's arrival in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where he is scheduled to deliver his address on September 24.

A Turkish Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister, his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, and accompanying delegates landed at John F Kennedy International Airport at 6:20 PM local time on Monday.

Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the UN Irene Zubaida Khan and Ambassador to the United States Tareq Md Ariful Islam welcomed the Prime Minister upon his arrival at the airport.
