Banks open Friday, Saturday for Hajj payments

Banks handling Hajj registration payments will keep their relevant branches open nationwide on Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26, Bangladesh Bank has directed.

The central bank issued a circular on Wednesday following a request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs dated September 20.

The branches concerned have been instructed to make necessary arrangements to receive Hajj registration fees during the two days.

The circular also said that if any Hajj pilgrim arrives after regular banking hours to make the payment, the branch must ensure security and continue accepting the payment as long as the person remains there.
