Five people died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the 24 hours to Thursday (September 24), while 1,183 new suspected cases and 100 confirmed cases were reported, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the five deaths, three were reported in Dhaka Division and two in Sylhet Division.

Since March 15, the country has recorded 184,632 suspected measles cases, including 20,951 confirmed cases. A total of 980 deaths have been reported among suspected cases, while 101 deaths have been confirmed as measles-related.

Dhaka reported the highest number of new suspected cases in the latest 24-hour period with 442, followed by Chattogram with 243 and Sylhet with 156.
