Six shops gutted in Pirojpur fire

 
PIROJPUR, Sept 25: Six shops were burnt on Thursday late night at Puratan Kapuriapatti road at the heart of the town.  

The burnt shops are M/s Jahangir Tailors & Fabrics, Joy Tea stall, Pirojpur Hardware Store, Ayash Store, Akon Cycle and Masud & Brothers. 

General Secretary of District Trade Association Ahsanul Kabir said they primarily estimated loss of Tk 25-30 lakh. “We are trying to stand beside the victims,” he said.

Locals said the fire might have originated from Joy Tea Stall.
 
Officer-in-Charge of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station Md Shariful Islam said, being informed police and fire services rushed to spot and controlled the fire after nearly two hours. 

Administration and political party leaders visited the spot and assured to provide help as soon as possible.
