AL leader arrested at checkpoint while heading to India

Rajshahi’s Godagari municipal Awami League General Secretary Nasimul Islam was arrested at the Darshana checkpost in Chuadanga while attempting to travel to India on Sunday.

Immigration police arrested Nasimul at around 2:00 PM while he was crossing the Darshana checkpost to enter India.

SI Tarek of Darshana immigration police said a case had been filed against Nasimul. Following his arrest, he was handed over to Darshana police station.

Darshana Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam said Nasimul would be handed over to Godagari Police Station.
