Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 439 people and filed 31 cases during its regular anti-crime drives in the capital over the past 24 hours.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Md Akter Hossain shared the information on Thursday.
Of the arrests, 96 were made by Mirpur Division, 79 by Tejgaon, 57 by Lalbagh, 55 by Motijheel, 38 by Uttara, 37 by Wari, 28 each by Ramna and Gulshan, 20 by the Detective Branch and one by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit.
Police recovered 152.15kg of cannabis, 7,028 yaba tablets and 175g of heroin during the drives.
They also seized 13 mobile phones, a motorcycle, a knife, a ramda, a machete, two Swiss gear knives, a microbus and a private car.
Legal proceedings against the arrestees are underway, the DMP official said.
