Football fans thronged the streets of Kolkata on Thursday night (October 1) to catch a glimpse of the five-time world champions Brazil, led by Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior, ahead of their historic international friendly against India.
The Brazilian squad—including key figures such as Vinícius Júnior, Endrick, and Marquinhos—arrived at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport around 8:45 PM. Under heavy security escort, the team was greeted along the route to their hotel by thousands of fans waving green-and-yellow flags and wearing Brazil jerseys.
The squad, managed by Carlo Ancelotti, features prominent names including Endrick, Marquinhos, Estêvão, and Gabriel Martinelli. However, Barcelona winger Raphinha was ruled out due to injury and will miss the clash.
The Seleção is scheduled to hold a media session on Friday morning followed by an evening training session at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium). The historic friendly against host nation India will take place at the same venue on Saturday (October 3).
