Bangladesh women’s cricket team head coach David Hemp believes the upcoming Australia tour will provide a clear picture of where the team stands in world cricket.
Hemp, 55, has signed a contract until September 2028 and will begin his new stint with a three-match ODI series against Australia. He previously worked with Bangladesh as batting coach during the Women’s ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup qualifiers.
Calling the tour a major challenge, Hemp noted that Australia are the world’s top-ranked team in both ODIs and T20Is.
However, he sees the series as an opportunity to test Bangladesh against the best. “You want to play against the best players because you want to test yourself,” he told Cricbuzz.
Bangladesh will leave for Australia on October 3. The three ODIs will be played at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on October 9, 11 and 14.
