Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until seven conditions agreed with the United States are fulfilled.
Ghalibaf made the remarks in a statement reported by Iranian news agency Nour News on Sunday (October 4).
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran had submitted a new proposal to the US and the strait could reopen within seven days if Washington accepts it.
He said Iran had clearly outlined its conditions and hoped the US would choose diplomacy, warning that Tehran was prepared to respond if Washington pursued military action again.
