Nine more people died of dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll this year to 271.
Among the latest deaths, three were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area. The latest fatalities included five men and four women.
Meanwhile, 1,902 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin issued on Monday.
The total number of hospitalisations this year has reached 88,360, while 82,335 patients have recovered. Another 1,988 patients were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours.
Dhaka division recorded the highest number of new admissions outside city corporation areas with 401, followed by Khulna with 306, Chattogram 272, Barishal 216, Rajshahi 105, Mymensingh 98 and Rangpur 66.
Hospitals in DNCC and Dhaka South City Corporation areas reported 206 and 223 new admissions respectively.
