Three more people have died with measles symptoms in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of such deaths to 1,026 since March 15, while no new death from confirmed measles was reported during the period.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said this in its health bulletin issued on Monday (October 5), covering the 24-hour period from 8AM on Sunday to 8AM on Monday.

During the period, health authorities identified 1,296 suspected measles patients and 60 confirmed cases. A total of 1,179 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals, while 1,234 patients recovered and were discharged.

Of the three people who died with measles symptoms, two were from Chattogram Division and one from Dhaka Division, according to the DGHS.

Since March 15, a total of 197,722 suspected measles cases have been reported, including 21,808 confirmed cases. During the same period, 175,336 patients have been discharged from hospitals.

The DGHS said 102 people have died from confirmed measles since March 15.

Under the National Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign 2026, authorities have vaccinated 20,346,253 people as of Monday, achieving 112.9% of the target.
