Sonali Bank's senior officer found dead at Khilgaon apartment

Deceased Shahanur Rahman, 45, son of Abdur Rahman of Bil Gazaria village in Pangsha upazila of Rajbari district. He was a senior official of Sonali Bank's Motijheel branch.

According to the victim's brother, Mostafizur Rahman, Shahanur had been suffering from mental depression for several days due to family-related issues.

"He returned home on Saturday evening without informing anyone and locked himself inside. When there was no response after some time, family members broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan with his trousers wrapped around his neck."

They rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 8:45PM, where on-duty doctors at the emergency department declared him dead.

DMCH police camp in-charge inspector Md Faruq said the body was kept at the hospital's morgue and the matter had been reported to Khilgaon Police Station.
