3 held with hemp in Netrokona

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14) arrested three suspected drug peddlers along with a large consignment of hemp from Kendua upazila of Netrokona district on Friday night.

The arrested were identified as Ziaur Rahman Zia, Nazim Uddin and Liton Mia.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB officials intercepted a pickup van near the market-adjacent playground in Sandikona union and arrested the trio along with 72 kg of hemp from their possessions.

Kendua Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mehdi Maksud confirmed the incident and said that an RAB official filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act, and legal procedures are underway.
