Husband detained for killing wife in Kalkini

Kalkini Police has arrested a man due to allegations of murdering his wife over a family dispute. The incident took place in the Auliachar area of Banshgari Union Kalkini upazila of Madaripur. 

According to Police sources, accused Sultan Sardar, 65 was held by the police as allegations came regarding the murder of his wife Jobeda Begum, 60. The incident took place around 11:30PM on Saturday (July 18). 

Khaserhat Police Investigation Center Sub-Inspector (SI) Ripon Ali Khan sent the dead body to Madaripur Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem. He said, the family was having a dispute for a long time. It is suspected that wife was killed by slitting her throat due to this dispute. 

Later, Kalkini Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Billal Hossain conducted a raid and arrested the accused Sultan Sardar from his house. A case was lodged with Kalkini Police Station in this regard.
